Teacher comment

Sean, you have been incredibly self motivated and organised, throughout the duration of your passion project. You have kept an open mind toward the content and structure of your game, and on discussion with game experts, have made changes as you see fit. There has been a wide range of skills that you developed in order to produce a game of the calibre that yours is, I imagine you will call on these skills many times in the years to come. Keep striving towards the great things that you desire, and you will achieve big things!

My passion project recorder

This movie tells you the process I have been through to get to where I am now with my passion project.

The board game box

Today I have got the base of my box done (for the board game). I am going to put in dividers, split the sides of the box and put on hinges so it makes a kind of chest. After that I will put a varnish over it so it 'tans' it and makes it shine. Finally I shall burn the title of the board game into the top and the sides and maybe paint a picture onto the top
Above: the picture and title that might go on top of the box

The board

Today I started making the actual board for the game and I have stuck it onto an A2 piece of card and I am going to get it laminated as well as bind the rulebook. Then I am going to make a wooden box for the game, engrave the title onto the top and then varnish it.

The game trial

This is my new board design☝and I did a trial of my board game today and it went really well, I did have to make some changes and I am happy I did trial it. Now I need to make the box and bind the rules and it will be finished!

Habits of mind assessment Term 4

Throughout my passion project I used lots of different habits of mind and here are of the main ones I used.

I have used ‘striving for accuracy’ when I had to design my cards and boards because they had to be near perfect.

I also ‘Applied past knowledge to new situations’ when I was writing the rules I used different aspects of games I had played before.

Last of all I ‘Thought flexibly’ when I re-designing my board I had to look at things a different way a lot.
